New High-Rises Being Planned for Bloor Street

The Annex Residents’ Association is alerting residents to a 42-storey high-rise being proposed for 316 Bloor Street, at the corner of Bloor and Madison.

A second high-rise, which we anticipate to be more than 30 stories, is planned for the nearby site of the Bloor Street United Church

These developments are the most important our community will be facing in a decade.

The two high-rises would leave the Bloor Street Urban Design Guidelines in shambles. They were adopted by City Council to guide development on the Bloor Street corridor from Avenue Road to Bathurst Street.

The developer of the 316 Bloor Street site, State Development Group, has filed a formal application for the 42-storey building, despite requests from community groups and the Councillor Joe Cressy to that it be delayed.

Councillor Cressy is sponsoring a community consultation meeting where you can get more information from City planners and the developer and make your voice heard.

Come out for this very important meeting.

Day: Thursday April 2nd
Time: 6:30-8:30 PM
Place: Room SS1085, Sidney Smith Building, University of Toronto,
100 St. George St.

Hold the Date: April 30th - Mayor Tory Speaks to His Neighborhood

The Mayor of Toronto will be the keynote speaker at this year’s Annual General Meeting of the Annex Residents’ Association.

The Mayor’s speech, and the development pressures facing the neighbourhood, make this year’s meeting of the ARA a must for those interested in ensuring a healthy and thriving Annex.

The ARA’s Annual General Meeting will be held on:

Day: Thursday, April 30th
Time: 7:30 PM
Place: The Friends' Meeting House
60 Lowther Ave.
All welcome!
